Meh I say, Meh!

Another Grand Slam passes and once again it's Roger or Rafa on the trophy - Rafa incidentally - Meh.
But this time I was there! Well, not for the final, I was there on the 2nd Wednesday, aka men's Quarter Finals day. We were on Centre Court which was pretty freakin awesome. 1st up was Roger Federer vs Tomas Berdych followed by Andy Murray vs Jo-Wilfried Tsonga. Two very high quality matches, and when Berdych conquered Federer I thought to myself "Holy Shit! We might have a non Roger or Rafa champion!", after all Nadals Wimbledon performance hadn't exactly been stellar up until that point, he'd been through two 5 set matches already vs low rankers, surely once he reaches the Quarters or the Semis he's toast, right?
Well toast he did not become, rather his Semi vs Murray and indeed the Final vs Berdych were 2 of his most commanding wins of the tournament, although to be fair Murray did produce chances, unfortunately the Spaniard prove too good at wrangling himself out of bother.
The American hard court swing is looming on the horizon, hard courts are where most players feel most comfortable so things tend to even out a bit after the clay and grass seasons that favour specialists.
As ever we'll be looking to former US Open juniors champ and 2008 finalist Andy Murray to bring home the 1st British Grand Slam win of the Open Era.
No pressure like man.
freedoms_stain, out.
